Haryali Teej is observed on the third day of the bright half of the Shraavana’s Lunar month. It is also referred to as Singhara Teej. The meaning of Haryali is greenery. It is believed that the earth will get wrapped in greenery after the summer season. Haryali Teej is an extremely important festival for newly married women who visit their houses and are presented with many items. Parents gift their daughter and her in-laws a bunch of gift called Sindhara. The gift will usually contain ghewar, homemade sweets, heena, etc. On the festival day, folk songs, special dances, fairs and swings are being performed. Spiritual songs are also sung.
